This farm has been in the Enciso Franco family since 2014. It is located in La Armenia, right on the border with Brazil. It is located at 1850-1950 meters above sea level. There are two zones of forestry conservation and the farm has its own spring water source. This year they planted 320 different shade trees such as Nogal, Guamo, and Vanilla trees! The processing is slow and steady with a fermentation between 96-144 hours depending on variety, level of ripeness, and ambient temperature. It is de-pulped without water to preserve the fruit-forward flavors. The coffee is washed with the cold fresh mountain spring water on the farm. Drying the coffee can take anywhere between 2-5 days, depending on the weather. Camilo Enciso who is also the president of the ASOPEP cooperative in Tolima has used all of the acquired knowledge as president of the organization to benefit his farm. The Gesha lot is very special and a very sweet, clean, and juicy coffee. This is Maquina's first purchase of this coffee, but we hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
